Luna and the Big Blur is a wonderful book for kids who are adjusting to the idea of wearing glasses. Kids who are confused about why they need glasses, unhappy about they way they look in their glasses or upset the kids in books don’t have glasses like them will enjoy this picture book.
At the back of the book there’s information for parents, about eye conditions, glasses and advice about getting a reluctant child to wear glasses.
As someone who had glasses pretty young, I can understand how Luna felt. One thing I wish the author wrote more about is the amazing feeling of being able to really see details for the first time.
is a fun book to read out-loud. The pictures are bright and colourful, but the best part of this book is that it shows how things can be both positive and negative at the same time. It teaches kids the difference between fortunately and unfortunately. The crazy situations the monkey gets into will make you laugh.
Chicken, Pig, Cow Horse Around. Chicken, Pig and Cow books are always adorable and their books usually have a message. This book is about making room for new friends, and how working together is often the best way to get things done.
